 In India, there are no legal provisions related to it. This right is currently not available under the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 (“DP Rules 2011”) framed under the Information Technology Act, 2000 (“IT Act 2000”).
 Justice Puttaswamy v. Union of India, 2017: The Supreme Court recognised
the right to be forgotten as being under the ambit of the right to
privacy (specifically, informational privacy) under the Constitution.

 Information Technology Act, 2000 provides for safeguard against certain breaches in relation to privacy of data from computer systems.

Q4. In which of the following “Antibody Conjugates” could be applied?

  1. Western Blot
  2. ELISA
  3. Flow Cytometry
  4. Immunocytochemistry
  5. Immunohistochemistry
Select the correct answer using the code below:
    a) 1, 3 and 5 only
    b) 2, 4 and 5 only
    c) 3 and 4 only
    d) 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5

Solution: d)

Explanation:
All are correct.
Conjugated antibodies are used in a wide range of applications including flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, immunocytochemistry, western blot, and ELISA. There are two types of detection methods used with antibodies, direct and indirect. Immunohistochemistry is the most common application of immunostaining. It involves the process of selectively identifying antigens in cells of a tissue section by exploiting the
principle of antibodies binding specifically to antigens in biological tissues.
Flow cytometry (FC) is a technique used to detect and measure physical and chemical characteristics of a population of cells or particles. In this process, a sample containing
cells or particles is suspended in a fluid and injected into the flow cytometer instrument.
ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) is a plate-based assay technique designed for detecting and quantifying soluble substances such as peptides, proteins, antibodies,
and hormones. Other names, such as enzyme immunoassay (EIA), are also used to describe the same technology.
The western blot (sometimes called the protein immunoblot), or western blotting, is a
widely used analytical technique in molecular biology and immunogenetics to detect
specific proteins in a sample of tissue homogenate or extract.

Q5. With reference to Taiwan, consider the following statements:

Taiwan is officially known as the Republic of China (ROC).
It is a state in East Asia with Neighbouring states including the People’s Republic of
China (PRC) to the west, Japan to the north-east, and the Philippines to the south.
The East China Sea lies to its north, the Philippine Sea to its east, the Luzon Strait directly to its south and the South China Sea to its southwest.
The Taiwan Strait separates the island of Taiwan from mainland China. The strait is
currently part of the South China Sea and connects to the East China Sea to the north Taipei is the capital.
Taiwan is no longer a member of the UN, having been replaced by the PRC in 1971.
Taiwan is claimed by the PRC, which refuses diplomatic relations with countries that recognise the ROC. Hence, statement 3 is not correct.
Taiwan maintains official ties with 14 out of 193 UN member states and the Holy
See.
The bilateral relations between India and Taiwan have improved since the 1990s despite
both nations not maintaining official diplomatic relations.

Q6. With reference to Production-Linked Incentive Scheme, consider the following

statements-

  1. It is based on incremental sales and metrics based which are easy to measure.
  2. It is valid for 5 years.
  3. It will be implemented by the concerned ministry and department within the
    prescribed financial limit.
Which of the statements above is/are correct?
    a) 1 and 2 only
    b) 2 only
    c) 2 and 3 only
    d) 1, 2 and 3

Solution: d)
Explanation:
All statements are correct.
Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme:
The PLI scheme aims to boost domestic manufacturing and reduce imports by providing
cash incentives on incremental sales from products manufactured in the country.
Along with inviting foreign companies in India, the scheme aims to encourage local
companies to set up, or expand, existing manufacturing units.
The Production Linked Incentives will be available over a five-year period.
The scheme will be implemented by the concerned ministries/departments and will be
within the overall financial limits prescribed.
Approved for 13 sectors so far:
It has so far been approved for more than 10 sectors,
As of now, the government has planned for Rs 2 lakh crore worth of incentives, across 13
sectors.
Of this, the auto and auto parts space has bagged the biggest chunk (Rs 57,000 crore),
while electronics for nearly Rs 41,000 crore.
Why it has good change to succeed:
The initiative, being an output-based effort, stands a better chance of success since the
incentive structure is clearly defined and targeted.
It is based on incremental sales and efficiency metrics that are easy to measure, like
indigenisation levels, rather than profits or taxes.
Revenue incentives kick in immediately and encourage companies to continue to invest.
Even if only a finite number of companies in any sector can use the benefits, it is enough
to get the ecosystem going.
Importantly, the scheme is backed by reasonably large resources that do not need to be
spent all in one go but over time, thereby giving the government the time to allocate them.
